I thought I understood the term “mental health” as well as the next person but I was so wrong. It wasn’t until late 2016/2017, when my own mental health took a nose dive that I realised what it was like to be in the lowest of places.
I’ve been battling anxiety and depression every day since but I am happy to talk about my own experience and also that of mental health in the NHS, medication and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. If I can help even just one person with my story then I’ll have achieved what I set out to do. I actually started my side hustling as a distraction and way to cope with my mental health. As well as, cleaning. I find that when m anxiety is high, I go into cleaning mode and almost tune out to everything. This is at odds with my depression as when I am feeling depressed I can hardly get out of bed. Anxiety and depression pull you in different ways.
Anyway, I’ll talk about this in future posts.
